“Felt were, and remain, quite other, something always just out of reach, a Christmas present you don’t want to unwrap.” – Bob Stanley 2011.

Lawrence released the first Felt single ‘Index’ during the late 70s DIY revolution that exploded from bedrooms throughout the land.

Then, at the dawn of the 80s he formed the band with an idea to release ten albums in ten years.  These records came out on the Cherry Red and Creation labels.

With fellow musicians Maurice Deebank – Martin Duffy and Gary Ainge, he fashioned an underground sound that became a template for music of the future.

As well as writing the most beautiful songs, Felt looked beautiful too. For ten consecutive years they had it all.
